Intentional Interim Minister Search
The Table: UCC La Mesa, located 10 miles East of downtown San Diego, seeks a full-time intentional interim to work in partnership with us throughout the process of calling the next settled pastor. We’re an Open and Affirming church, proud to support the UCC national programs as a 5 for 5 church, while being known locally for commitment to social justice, diversity, and inclusion. While the previous pastor left on the best of terms, any change brings with it feelings of loss and uncertainty, especially for newer members who’ve never experienced a pastoral change. We seek an interim minister who will keep the congregation engaged throughout the transition to our next settled pastor. For this reason we’re searching for a pastor with intentional interim training/experience, or who is willing to receive such training upon being called.
An Interim Minister is more than just a placeholder... they will actively help our church and the Settled Pastor Search Committee navigate the "In Between"... that time between when we said goodbye to Pastor Kelly, work through the process to discover who will be the best match for us, and then use that information to select, hire, and ultimately welcome our next "Settled Minister." An Interim Minister doesn't serve for specific length of time, with the process typically taking a church 12-18 months from start to finish.
Please note: all interested applicants must apply through the Conference Office to ensure that applicants have the proper eligibility to serve a UCC congregation. Please ask any applicants you may know to apply through the online link below.
